Wow time flies when your having fun!

So it has been awhile since I posted, but really who has lots of time with a newborn?? I don't, but I LOVE IT!!! Karoline is almost 6 weeks old!!! I can't believe it has been almost 6 weeks. She has changed so much in 6 weeks and so has my life. I mean, I knew before she was born everything would change. I was just unaware how much nothing else would matter other than her.

When I last posted, Karoline weighed 6lbs and 1 oz and still 19 and 1/2 inches long. Well several things have happend and changed since then. Karoline enjoyed her very 1st holiday!! It was the 4th of July. Nicole and I went shopping several weeks before Karoline was born and bought the girls matching outfits. I was hoping Karoline would be here since her due date was July 3rd. Her outfits swallowed her!! It was so cute, but so big. She and her BFF Kylee looked adorable and will appreciate the pictures when they are older!! ha ha!!

I also had the chance to take some precious pictures of my baby girl napping in her cradle one day. She is the sweetest thing ever when she is sleeping, but always too!!

First Dr. appointment on June 29th!

Yes, Karoline had her 1st Dr appointment on Monday, June 29th! They want to get them in I guess and check over them since leaving the hospital. We were excited because we wanted to make sure everything was going smoothly. Karoline weighed at birth 6lbs and 1 oz. At her 1st Dr. appointment she weighed 6lbs. She was still 19 1/2 inches long. The Dr. said everything was going good. She only cried at the end of the Dr's appointment because she was hungry!!!

Look who all came to visit us....

This is just a post of some of the people who came to visit us. I know there were more and I do not have any pics of them, but thanks to everyone for coming!!!!!

Visiting with The Jones

Karoline was born on June 25th, which would have been my papaw's birthday. We came home on June 26th, which is my Granddaddy's birthday. If you know me, you know I am CRAZY about him!! He is the one who made Karoline's cradle for her as a surprise for me!! I either really wanted her to be born on either of the 2 days. When we were discharged from the hospital, we decided since it was his birthday we would run Karoline by there for a second. My grandaddy is 81 and has had several bouts with the ugly cancer. Every time he has prevailed and I really wanted him to meet her. Here are a few pictures of Grandaddy and his Queen as he called her! Also one of my Granny holding Karoline!! They love her so much!!!

Karoline Grace Byrd

I am behind on posting this, but it will be worth the wait!!

On June 25th, my papaw's birthday, we arrived at the hospital at 5:00 bright and early in the morning. By 5:40 I was started on pitocin and at 6:30, Dr. Wortham broke my water. Prior to the pitocin and water breaking I was 2 cm. Around 10:30, I began to feel some pain and decided to get some meds. I opted for the Stadol since everyone figured this would be a 5 or 6 o'clock ordeal. So, Stadol it was!!!! THAT stuff is amazing....while it last. Throughout this whole process we are uping the pitocin and the contractions are coming. When I recieved the Stadol, I was dialated to 3 cm. Ok, now the stadol wore off in an hour and I was in PAIN!!!! I got my epidural at like 11:45. It only took on the right side!!! I had to lay on my left side for 45 minutes in hopes the epi would take there. That was the most painful 45 minutes of my entire life!!!! Finally, they gave me more meds. It worked and everything went numb. I asked the nurse to check me again around 12:45ish. She did and said, "Oh my, it is time." Kevin wasn't even in the room and I am about to have a baby!!! So, the nurses and Dr came in with what seemed to be enough supplies to support 8 kids and Kevin came. I pushed for about 10-12 minutes and at 1:20, Karoline Grace Byrd was born. She weighed 6lbs and 1oz. She was 19 inches long. That moment was the best moment of my life!!!! She was and still is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen and all the pain was so worth it. I would do it all again in a instant for this!!!

The 1st picture is the morning we had Karoline before we left the house.

This below picture is me and Kevin when I was on the Stadol and feeling good!

This is when it hit me that I was about to have a baby!!!!

News News News

So.... it has been a little bit since I last updated. Everything has been going well with the pregnancy. On Monday, June 15th I got switched to heparin, so I can have an epidural. On Tuesday, June 16th, I went to the OB. He told me I had dialted to 1 and scheduled me to be induced on the 25th. That is a special day for our family. It is my paw paws birthday, who passed away in 2001 from cancer. That means, from today I have 8 days until I meet my princess!!! We cannot wait. I go back to the Dr. on 23rd and he wants to me to be dialted more. I stared walking this morning to possibly help progress that.

It is all overwhelming and exciting. I am very excited and so ready to meet her. Kevin and I's life is about to change forever!!!! In 8 days it will no longer be Kevin and Kim. WOW!!! It has been this away for such a long time. Keep your fingers and toes crossed that I dialate more and that everything goes well the 25th!!

Do you see what I see??

I am sure you do!! My pregnancy ticker says I have only 66 days left until July 3rd!!! WOW!!!

For many people they tell me that it seems like this pregnancy has flown by, but that is not so much the case for me. Since the day in October I found out I was expecting, everything has crawled at the slowest slug type pace. However, I have truly enjoyed all of it. I have had my share of complications being pregnant, but would not change it for the world. Initially, we dealt with making sure my meds for my heart are ok. Then we dealt with me having a blood clot or DVT. This has been a doozy for me. Due to the clot I give myself 2 shots a day and wear TED hose. Yep, not very fun at all but definitely worth it in the end.

As I am now in the last lap of this 40 weeks race, I feel almost every emotion possible. I am so ready to meet her, hold her, love her, kiss her, etc. However, I am scared of what is to come, scared of how good of a mother I will be, scared of not making the right choices. I am also sad because for almost 31 weeks now, she has been inside me. I know she is technically mine and Kevin's baby girl, but she has lived in me! I have felt her every move and I have come to love her so much it is indescribable. I am sad in a way that I am going to have to share her with other people. I know it sounds silly, but it is what it is.

During this pregnancy I have learned alot about myself and being pregnant.
1.) I have learned that I can tolerate more than I though I could.
2.) I have learned that I do not miss cold sandwich meat.
3.) I have learned that I do miss being able to see my toes when I stand up.
4.) I have learned that Tylenol is more like a Tic Tac than medicine.
5.) I have learned that I do not have the crazy cravings and hope not to.
6.) I have learned that not everyone is the same during pregnancy.
7.) I have learned that it is a weird and crazy feeling when the baby moves inside of you,
but it is the best thus far!!
8.) I have learned that baby stuff is way expensive.
9.) I have learned that despite my moodiness and hatefulness, my husband is the best!!!!
10.) I have learned Karoline likes me to be on my side, or she kicks alot then.
11.) I have also learned at almost 31 weeks, I do not get up to pee at night! =)

Now I have vented somewhat, I will show you some pictures of my sweet Karoline's room!!
